From the exciting safari rides with a most knowledgeable, interesting and charismatic guide (Devon) who made us feel safe and excited, feeding our curiosity and always finding something new to make us want more; to the exceptional and luxurious service of such warm friendly and amazing hosts and hostesses. We have been so very spoiled in ways beyond what we could have imagined. At every turn there has been a sublime and pleasantly unexpected surprise. When Rachel suggested we go on safari and stay in tents, I thought she was crazy. When I saw the photo’s I became excited. Neither of us could ever have begun to imagine what awaited us. We shall take with us such magical memories and always look back with such fondness at the lovely people we have had the privilege to meet. We most certainly will never forget the exquisite food, which we just could not resist – though in truth we didn’t resist too hard!

Thank you so much for a truly wonderful stay. The attention to detail is second to none, from the personalized menu for my non-fish eating partner, to the lovely poems left nightly in our room. I loved the game drives and the great effort that was made to ensure that everyone was warm and cozy whatever the weather – the ponchos, blankets and the sundowners were all fantastic thoughtful touches. In term of the game viewing we were blessed with some wonderful experiences including a very close encounter with a beautiful elephant who approached our stopped vehicle to take us all in for 4-5 minutes – utterly magical. We also had the pleasure of being lead down by one of the tracks by a lion. Similarly to one of your other guest, I also developed an affection for the warthog, those lovely little trot when they ran constantly made me smile. Keep up with everything, including the wonderful roaring fire and canapés to greet guests in from the evening drive. Thank you for a very memorable few days.

When we were greeted on our trip from the gate with 3 of the Kruger bull elephants on the plains next to the lodge, we knew we were in for something special! Throughout our stay we were spoilt by everything Gorah had to offer. Our highlights include: 2 mail lions stretching and yawning in the evening sun, holding a dung beetle, 50+ elephants at the lodge waterhole during lunch, tracking a lioness (resulting in a flat tyre), the aardvark hunt and many more wildlife encounters! Back in the lodge, the hospitality of all the Gorah team was incredible; catering to all the needs you never know you had! Special thanks to Gareth for his enthusiasm and knowledge on all things Gorah and to Suzanne and Renate for making our return from the drives feel like home! And to all the staff and chefs for being AMAZING!! A honeymoon is supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience, but for us the Gorah experience was too good not to be repeated!

I feel it’s really different from Ireland we only see cows, sheep and the very odd time a deer, so being up close to the lions, buffalo and elephants was amazing. I has been everything I wanted and more, when we return home, I know this magical place will be in our memories for years to come. It has a “magic” about it you can feel. To see the lions mate, and then a herd of elephants walk to the waterhole while sipping red wine by an open fire is the “stuff of dreams”. Gorah has been our dream come true. To the fabulous staff of Gorah, We’re sitting next to the fire in our tent sipping Amarula and eating truffles and reflecting upon our time here. We’ve heard wonderful stories about the house from Renate and Suzanne, and we are sure that Hester would be proud of all you have achieved. As well as aesthetic and culinary perfection, you offer excitement, which is rare. We felt very small and very vulnerable last night, with the wind howling around our tent and the promise of lions and elephants beyond its boundaries. Our game drives with Andy were excellent, affording us real proximity to the animals. To be close enough to the elephants to hear them chewing and to watch the lions mate, was unbelievable, and certainly something we’ll tell our children in the future on a rainy day in Scotland. And I’m sure we’ll never have a better G+T than the one we had tonight, out in the bush with the sun setting and the stars appearing overhead. Thank you so much for a magical end to our honeymoon. To everyone at Gorah, I’m sitting with my new husband on the verandah having yet another amazing breakfast but sadly for the last time. How wonderful that our stay here ends with the sun on our faces and the waterhole full of buffalo – perfect! They’re having a real stomp and making a noise. I don’t think I could have expected a four night stay to make such an impact; it’s been truly amazing in every way and thanks to Howard my hubby for choosing Gorah as part of our honeymoon. The food has been incredible – so much and so good! The tents are fab and love the design and attention to detail, the views unforgettable! Every single member of staff has been so lovely and friendly and helpful, a rarity to go somewhere where the service is faultless. We arrived on Thursday night to this romantic, candlelit house with a roaring fire and elephants having a drink, including Skukuza, I knew instantly we’d found a gem. And of course the amazing animals, nature and wildlife, it’s just fascinating we’ve learnt a lot, even though just the tip of the iceberg. Last night we saw the lion in action and even the rhino – couldn’t have been a better drive thanks to Andy and Roger!

Wow! We have just retuned from a three day stay at the marvelous GORAH CAMP!
We don't really have words to describe the amount of luxury and fun we experienced from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. We saw: lions three times in three days ; too many close encounters with elephants to count ; herds of buffalo ; a black rhino and a host of other antelope. We even had the lions roar and the jackal howl right next to our tent on the first night and we woke up to a herd of buffalo right in front of our tent on the last morning! The staff looked after our every need and was super friendly. Our ranger was very knowledgeable and patient with all our questions and the food....well, just to die for! Every time we looked there was the next surprise and spoil ready for us. Our two young boys absolutely loved the tent experience and specially the pool area which has a stunning view over the plains. How to summarize it? We highly recommend heaven!
