As part of giving back to local communities, Hunter Hotels is involved in a number
of community projects situated near to our respective properties.

Gorah Elephant Camp has, since the inception of the Langbos Creche and Care Centre Addo in 2006, assisted with the employment of teachers and the purchasing of educational materials, toys and other relevant equipment. Spending time with the children at poignant celebrations throughout the year as well as lending a hand with brush and paint.

Hunter’s Country House supports, amongst other local schools, the Greenhill Educare Centre, situated in Kwanokuthula Plettenberg Bay. This particular pre-school is vital for those young children who come from impoverished backgrounds, many are from single parent homes. Preparing the children to be scholastically ready for entry into Grade 1 at the local primary schools is essential.

Zinzi Restaurant assists by way of providing food parcels to the local Harkerville Primary school to ensure a wholesome meal for learners during school hours. Fresh produce is also donated to the St Patricks Church soup kitchen and the Masiqhame Group for the elderly and disabled in Kranshoek.

Tsala Treetop Lodge is committed to a literacy programme which involves all Grade 3 learners in both the Phakamisani and Kwanokuthula primary schools.  A number of our staff members give of their time to support this worthy programme which includes reading, writing and conversation with the learners.  This process has greatly assisted the learners to achieve age appropriate literacy skills to effectively access the curriculum in Grade 4, when the medium of instruction changes from their home language Xhosa to English.
